Until today, I had never eaten Fries and Gravy. I think it just SOUNDS nasty. Fried potatoes slithering around in gray goo.

But, I was informed it was quite the delicacy I was missing. Like deep fried twinkies, fried bananna and peanut butter sandwiches and funnel cakes? I think I am merely being saved from a heart attack.

I succumed. And tried it. As I thought, it was gross. But I can now say I have eaten another local delicacy.

Along with muskrat.

Mmmm. I love fries and gravy. Chicken gravy, not beef gravy.
Rarely do I eat the cholesterol laden goodies however.
Have they gotten you to try fries with vinegar yet?

She made several posts yesterday but Blogger ate them. She has since started investigating moveable type...

In other news, Porkchop is on her way to NYC. Yes. With nary a word to her loyal blogging audience. Rotten porkchop. She'll be gone for almost a week. If she calls me, (unlikely since she's with a hot guy) I'll post interesting happenings in her comments. So watch for updates!

In latest news via text message, Porkchop was stuck next to a really annoying chatty kind of fellow on the train. Since this Porkchop drips with sarcasm, I'm sure his running commentary was matched with acerbic retorts.

    She hasn't been raped. Yet.

This odd narrative is my life. I ended up in Pittsburgh, of all places--from the beach. I have no hobbies, other than cooking excessively and eating microwave popcorn. I enjoy shopping, the Food network, hiding the remote so the Food network cannot be turned off, find ethnic food stores and restaurants and reading voraciously. My life is decidedly pedestrian.

I worked in the car business where I was required to be ruthless and soul-less wench, which is when I started this project. Since then, I've kept it up because secretly, I've always wanted to join the military. Every male in my mother's family has joined and I quietly entertain thoughts of joining. I haven't yet and don't know if I ever will, but sending the troops cookies keeps me sane. it makes me think I still have a shred of human kindness left in my withering soul. it's a small way for me to salute the men and women who are brave enough to fight for freedom. And makes me feel like I'm contributing toward troop morale--even if I'm not. So if you want to help, send me addresses of troops you know stationed overseas. you may also contribute toward the cost of chocolate chips, but don't feel obligated, that link is here only by request.
